AQL by defect class

Most consumer goods use General II with AQL 0 for critical, 2.5 for major and 4.0 for minor defects. Start on normal inspection and switch with the rules below.

Normal to tightened

2 of 5 consecutive lots not accepted

Tightened to normal

5 consecutive lots accepted

Normal to reduced

10 consecutive lots accepted, steady production and your approval

Reduced to normal

A lot not accepted, a count between Ac and Re, or irregular production
