Method and sources

The planner counts forward from the start date and skips weekly days off (Sunday for a 6-day week, Saturday and Sunday for a 5-day week), public holidays and any factory closure days you add, until the working days are used up. China's 2026 dates follow the State Council schedule, including the Saturday 10 October 2026 make-up working day; 2027 dates follow the lunar calendar as gazetted in Hong Kong and are marked expected until the State Council publishes its schedule. The Chinese New Year break uses the statutory four days (5 to 8 February 2027), with a typical factory closure of about two weeks either side that you can adjust. India uses the central government holiday lists for 2026 and 2027, with a state filter based on the regions they name. Vietnam uses proposed and fixed-date holidays, marked expected until confirmed. Data covers October 2026 to December 2027.

### How long do Chinese factories close for Chinese New Year?

The statutory holiday is four days, which in 2027 is expected to be 5 to 8 February. Many factories typically close for 2 to 4 weeks around it because migrant workers travel home, so plan to finish production and ship well before mid-January.

### When is Chinese New Year 2027?

Lunar New Year's Day is 6 February 2027. The official break dates are usually published by the State Council in November or December of the year before.

### When is Diwali in 2026 and 2027?

Diwali falls on 8 November 2026 and 29 October 2027 in the Government of India holiday lists. Many factories close for several days to a week around it, and output in North Indian clusters can slow around Chhath Puja after it.

### When is Tet 2027 in Vietnam?

Lunar New Year's Day is 6 February 2027. Vietnam's Ministry of Home Affairs has proposed a 7-day break for civil servants from 4 to 10 February 2027, awaiting approval. Private factories set their own schedules and many close for longer.

### How do I keep my ship date around a festival?

Count working days, not calendar days, and book capacity and materials before the factory's order book fills. If your run crosses a shutdown, start earlier, split the order or plan for the ramp-up after the break.
