HS code finder. The right code, the right rate.
An HS code is the Harmonized System number customs authorities use to classify a product and set its import duty: the first six digits are shared worldwide and each country adds its own. Search by product words or by code and this finder shows the matching US tariff lines from the 2026 HTSUS with their general duty rate, unit and full description.

Data is the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (2026), Revision 11, published by the US International Trade Commission: 11,414 eight-digit US tariff lines with their general (column 1) duty rate and unit of quantity. Search matches every word you type against the line's own description first and its heading second, with plurals, US and UK spellings and a short list of everyday synonyms (for example sofa and seat) handled for you. A code search matches the digits from the start, with or without dots. The general rate is the most-favoured-nation rate; additional duties under Chapter 99 (such as Section 301, Section 232 and reciprocal tariffs) and preferential rates under trade agreements are not included. The first six digits (HS6) follow the World Customs Organization's Harmonized System and are the same in the EU and UK, which set their own national digits and rates.

[email protected]What is the difference between an HS code and an HTS code?
The HS code is the six-digit Harmonized System code used by more than 200 customs authorities. The HTS code is the US version: it adds two digits for the tariff line (and two more for statistics), and that line sets the US duty rate.
Is the HS code the same in the EU, UK and US?
The first six digits are the same everywhere. After that, the EU uses 8-digit CN codes and 10-digit TARIC codes, the UK uses its own 10-digit commodity codes, and each sets its own duty rates.
Does the US duty rate shown include Section 301 tariffs?
No. The finder shows the general (column 1) rate. Section 301, Section 232 and reciprocal tariffs are set out in Chapter 99 and depend on the country of origin, so check them separately before you work out landed cost.
What does “Free” mean as a duty rate?
It means no general duty applies to that line. Additional duties, fees such as the Merchandise Processing Fee, and any taxes can still apply.
Who is responsible for the HS code on my shipment?
The importer of record is legally responsible for the classification. Suppliers often suggest a code, but confirm it with your customs broker, or ask for a binding ruling if the product is borderline.
